A graduate of Cardiff University Dental School, he has a wealth of general practice experience working in NHS and private practices, as well as a busy orthodontic clinic in South Wales. Attachments with restorative consultants in Cardiff dental school and with Orthodontic consultants in West Wales have further enhanced his knowledge and expertise.
Darril regularly attends postgraduate courses to keep up to date with the latest techniques. And he enjoys all aspects of cosmetic dentistry in particular transforming people’s smiles through, for example, white fillings, tooth whitening and full smile makeovers using the best cosmetic crowns and veneers available.
He is adept at restoring implants, from single crowns to full arch bridges, and is a member of the British Dental Association and British Orthodontic Society. Darril is extremely competent in orthodontics helping to deliver the results patients long for when it comes to achieving a better smile.
In 2013 after three years of study and examinations, he obtained a RCS (Eng) Diploma in primary care orthodontics and is now a registered DwSI in the field. He is also certified in providing orthodontics via the Invisalign system.
Darril is praised for his caring, empathetic chair-side manor, and the high number of families who have followed him throughout his career is testament to this.

Claire Evans
Dentist
GDC 82053
This was followed by Senior House Officer posts in Dental Public Health and Community Dentistry in various vicinities in South Wales, as well as Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Prince Charles And Royal Glamorgan Hospitals.
Claire has taken postgraduate examinations to become a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery Royal College of Surgeons (England) by passing the MFDS examination. She then worked in General Dental Practices, gaining experience in NHS and mixed NHS/private practices throughout South Wales before joining Promenade Dental (then Kings Road) in 2007.
With a special interest in Forensic Dentistry, Claire completed a Master’s Degree in 2008 achieving a Distinction.
Claire enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and can empathise with people who find dental treatment stressful and her calm and reassuring approach helps put even the most nervous of patients at ease.
Two young children keep Claire on her toes when she’s not working at Promenade Dental, running for fitness and a little bit of ‘me time’ when she gets the chance.
Kate Drake
Hygienist
She brings over 20 years of experience to Promenade Dental having worked at NHS and private practices all over the UK. Kate’s motto is to ‘maintain, monitor and motivate’, urging people to take care of their teeth at home as she knows what a difference this can make.
A work experience placement was the catalyst for Kate’s career. Inspired by the positivity of the dental hygienist she shadowed, she trained as a dental nurse after leaving school, later attending Manchester University where she qualified as a hygienist.
Kate has worked in practices in Cheshire, Lancashire and Llanelli, and the opportunity to work in so many different environments has taught her about the importance of developing good relationships with both colleagues and patients.
She values the support and guidance she received during her early years from those more senior than her and is a firm believer in encouraging others at all levels of experience.
Kate feels as enthusiastic now as when she first qualified. A key member of the Promenade Dental team one day a week, she works full time across a number of practices in the Swansea Bay area, helping her keep up to date with modern dental techniques so she may provide the very best in good dental care.
Outside of work and alongside busy family life, Kate enjoys long dog walks, reading, going to the gym and socialising.
Nicola Summers
Practice Manageress
Nicola has over 19 years of experience working in general dental practice and is a qualified business administrator.
She has completed a Level 4 Business Management course and when not working or studying, Nicola enjoys baking and spending time her daughters.
