What Are fixed braces?
Fixed braces are non-removable and are made up of brackets that are glued to each tooth and linked with wires. The braces are designed to apply gentle pressure over 12 – 24 months to move your teeth into the right position.

Signs you need fixed braces
Braces can improve your oral health, and some people choose them for aesthetic reasons.
Misaligned teeth
If your teeth are crooked, crowded, or gapped, braces can help.
Bite problems
You might need braces if you have an overbite, underbite, or crossbite.
Self Esteem
If you don’t feel confident when you smile, braces might help.
Fixed braces fitting Process
Orthodontics has benefitted from many advances and today treatment is faster and a lot more comfortable than it was in the past. This is what you can expect:
1. Assessment
We’ll assess if a fixed brace is the right treatment for you and before treatment begins, impressions, photos and x-rays are taken so we can determine what course of action to take.
2. Brackets
The brackets will then be bonded to individual teeth and wires clip onto them so that teeth are guided into position.
3. Check-ups
Through regular visits and check-ups, we’ll make sure that everything stays on course and any adjustments that are needed are made.
Braces Aftercare
You have to maintain good oral hygiene during treatment and then when the time is right, your braces are removed and you’ll have the smile you’d always hoped for.

How quickly do teeth move with fixed braces?
The short answer is, it depends, and the type of braces you choose won’t always dictate how long it takes to achieve your desired result. Instead, the treatment time will often be determined by how quickly your teeth move; the average is 1mm per month, but this differs from person to person.
What age is best for braces?
Early adolescence, or between the ages of 10 and 14, is widely considered the ideal time to get braces. That’s because preteens and younger teens have all (or nearly all) of their adult teeth in place, and their softer jawbone tissue is still quite responsive to repositioning. However, adults can benefit from braces, too. Although harder jawbone tissue can mean a longer, more involved treatment process for adults with braces, the right orthodontic treatment plan is usually all it takes to straighten teeth, and improve bite alignment.
